What is the difference between sensitive and sensitized skin? | Sensitive skin is a genetic predisposition found in fair skinned individuals of Northern European ancestry. Someone with sensitive skin is prone to blushing and may experience allergies. Sensitized skin is not confined to any particular demographic and is usually caused by environmental factors. |

Is there a cure for rosacea? |
Currently, there is no cure for rosacea. However, a variety of treatments that diminish the disease’s signs and symptoms are currently available. What causes acne? |
The exact cause of acne is not known, but it is important to note hormonal factors, particularly androgens, the male sex hormones that increase during puberty in males and females may paly a significant role. Thankfully, there are excellent products and treatments available today to correct and prevent acne break-outs. However, random and ill-informed use of intensive products can hinder rather than help. If you suffer from acne it is important to undergo a proper skin analysis with a professional prior to product selection and treatment. It's extremely important to fully understand your individual case and learn appropriate use of cosmeceutical products. |

I shave my bikini area because I’m allergic to most waxes, but I still get a bumpy rash along my bikini line. Is there anything I could use to prevent this? |
Shaving or waxing can cause the hair to split and loop around just under the surface of the skin. When the hair underneath the skin starts to grow it pushes up against instead of through the skin. We call this an ‘ingrown’ hair, and this is causing what looks like a ‘bumpy rash’. Products that contain acetylsalicylic acid that exfoliate the skin can help to soften the skin and allow the hairs to push through. If ingrown hairs are a consistent issue for you, consider laser hair removal. |
